Human movement is the integration of biomechanics, physiology, anatomy, and motor control that addresses the activities of daily living. We know that not everyone is the same and not everyone performs the same activities throughout their day. A qualified health and fitness professional knows that a stay-at-home mom needs a different personal fitness program than a pro-athlete, and a corporate exec has different exercise and fitness needs than an elite military operator.

We know how the body moves in every direction.  We know how muscles balance each other, and we know how to identify and avoid or repair movement dysfunctions.  We know the pathology of chronic disease and will work with your physician so you achieve your health goals.  Additionally, we know how to progress and regress individual movements and global fitness programs so each client will achieve optimal human movement in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

Each of our personal training clients start with a postural exam and muscular imbalance evaluation. Your information is used to design a personal fitness program that is specific to your needs. By combining some old school equipment like medicine balls, dumbbells, and bands with the latest in exercise physiology, your workouts are progressive, safe, and motivating.

Corrective Exercise & Pre and Rehabilitation - Everything breaks under repetitive stress, the body is no different. We address the body as integrated rather than as individual parts by identifying and correcting postural and muscular imbalances that can lead to pain and dysfunction.

Therapeutic or Medical Exercise - Are you tired of your chronic condition controlling you? High blood pressure, cardiac or pulmonary issues, arthritis or other joint issues? If you are ready to take control, we will, in collaboration with your other healthcare providers, develop an individualized approach to assess, motivate, educate, and train you. An educated fitness professional is well-versed with the intricacies of different chronic illnesses, and together we will design a safe and effective clinical exercise program to provide the guidance that helps you achieve your personal health and fitness goals

Functional Fitness Training - Get more efficient everyday movements to improve your functional abilities.

Athletic Training - Obstacle course, Running, triathlons, team sports, combat sports, etc; the training methods for each of these are different. Working with your sports coach, we will put you on a plan that will take you to the next level.

      A quick note about the current state of fitness training - Fitness is unregulated, and does not have a well-established standard of care.  Unlike other health professions that are highly regulated, require state licensure, and board certifications, there are over 200 fitness certifications available, many that require a simple weekend workshop.  I have continued my education so I can offer the most relevant evidence-based solutions to meet and exceed your fitness needs.
