Because you, the individual, is more important than a system or style, we offer private (semi-private) lessons and seminars.  We focus on your individual attributes and that cannot be accomplished in a group.

We do have a group class on Saturdays for those who just want to get in a little learning and a great workout with a great group of trainnig partners. 

Contemporary Jeet Kune Do is a fighting system that builds a self-defense based on your attributes rather than some centuries old methodology. By utilizing four ranges of combat (kicking, punching, trapping or "clinch", and ground), developing and applying the scientific principles of human movement and body mechanics, along with a proven fighting methodology, you will learn the most functional aspects of survival and combat fighting.

There is no such thing as a fair fight; no cage, no referee, no time limits, no rules.  The primary goal of Contemporary JKD is self-preservation. How can I most effectively end the moment of combat? Chances are you are not going to get into the ring or cage - you just want a realistic way to defend yourself and your family.  You will learn, with surgical precision, how to cheat and survive. This method of Close Quarter Combat (CQC, self-defense) is not pretty or flashy and in fact sometimes it’s downright nasty, but when you are trying to stay alive, who cares - The Life of You and Your Family Are Just Too Important.
This is true JKD, not MMA and not sport, but real self-defense for real life situations.

 

 

Why do we add Kali - Escrima

A weapon is the great equalizer.  Whether on the ground, on your feet, or in your car or home, knowing how to effectively use a weapon will give you the advantage. This method of training helps you learn to adapt common items such as keys, notebooks, water bottles, and pens as weapons.  Additionally, training with sticks and knives will help you with fighting attributes such as timing, distancing, footwork, and line familiarization.


Why Do We Focus on Private Training and Seminars?

Because we are not all the same and any human movement needs to be based on individual attributes, we offer private lessons in self-defense, as well as combat and MMA tactics.  With one-on-one training and small groups, you have complete and undivided attention.  This type of instruction allows you -the student – to build a more solid foundation and learn at a much faster pace.  You save years of wasted time, effort, and resources.

Seminars allow us to convey a large amount of information in a relatively short amount of time because the material is focused on a specific aspect of self-defense.  You will learn a lot of interconnecting concepts and techniques in a short amount of time.
